Jonathan Shapiro

Twenty four years old, a little over five foot three,
My hair is almost black, and my eyes are kind of green,
Looking for the perfect one, can’t wait to feel the zest.
I need a groom. I have the dress.

Twenty four years old, looking for someone to love,
Tall and understanding, under thirty, or above,
And maybe he could be a pilot, or could be a navigator.
I do not mind. It doesn’t matter.

And “all the men are just the same”,
This is what I heard from Mom,
“If one of them walks off today,
Tomorrow other ones will come”,
But Mama didn’t hear of Jonathan Shapiro.

And if I can get concrete,
Then this could be as well discrete,
If theoretically speaking he’s already got someone,
And we can meet some time at my place and discuss the issue through,
An open minded single, for a connection that is true.

And “all the men are just the same”,
This is what I heard from Mom,
“If one of them walks off today,
Tomorrow other ones will come”,
But Mama didn’t hear of Jonathan Shapiro.

We sit together on the beach,
The sea is blue; we’re drinking beer, oh,
Just the seagulls and myself and Jonathan Shapiro,
Underneath my clothes my heart is beating strong and wild,
Jonathan Shapiro, be the father of my child.
